Bette Midler Announces North American Kiss My Brass Tour

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 2, 2003--Four time Grammy award winner and world-renowned entertainer Bette Midler is hitting the road for the first time in four years with her Kiss My Brass Tour. The first leg of the tour kicks off on December 10th in Chicago, IL and is going through the middle of February. The tour will hit the top 40 cities across the U.S.

Bette Midler's Kiss My Brass Tour promises to be nothing short of a once in a lifetime experience as she performs the hits and characters that have made her famous, as well as selected songs from her recent release, Bette Midler Sings the Rosemary Clooney Songbook on Columbia Records. The album, which hit stores on September 30th, finds Bette teaming up with her original piano player and musical director, Barry Manilow, for a loving tribute to the late Rosemary Clooney.

A versatile performer whose career in music, film and theater has garnered accolades, Bette Midler's unparalleled talents are impossible to ignore. With her penchant for seamlessly blending drama and comedy she brings passion and sass to every performance. Her SRO tours have placed historically in the Top 5 grossing concerts in a calendar year, and she has sold more than 14 million albums over the course of her career. Bette has also been awarded 24 gold, platinum and multi-platinum certifications from the RIAA for her albums and singles.

In addition to continuing her recording career, Bette is dedicated and committed to her charity organization, The New York Restoration Project (www.nyrp.org), which continues to restore, develop, and revitalize underserved parks, community gardens, and open spaces in New York City. Bette Midler can next be seen on the big screen in Paramount Pictures' The Stepford Wives, due out in 2004.

The first markets to go on sale next week are Chicago, Columbus, St. Louis, Milwaukee, St. Paul, Uniondale, Detroit, Philadelphia, New York, and Cleveland. The following week Toronto, Boston, and DC will be available. More dates to be announced soon.
