10/17/10 - A recap of Rosemary's "6th child's" performance in Cleveland on Oct. 16 has been added to the site. Michael Feinstein is a phenominal performer who had a wonderfully loving relationship with Rosemary.

9/18/10 - Members of Rosemary's family joined in the dedication of George Clooney's costume from "The American"

Miss Patti Page's autobiography This Is My Song: A Memoir was recently published. In it Patti pays tribute to her good friend Rosie. The Rosemary Clooney Palladium inturn pays tribute to Patti with a new page at Rosie's home on the internet. Check out the photos of Rosie and Patti together, and the video of Patti singing A Foggy Day at Rosemary's Ella Award presntation.


Rosemary's husband Dante's home on the web has been updated with a new video clip featuring him singing to her on their 2nd wedding Anniversary. He surprised her during an interviw with Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America. The clips includes him singing Just in Time and her singing Our Love is Here to Stay.


3/12/09 - Jimmy Boyd passed away on March 10th. Back in the early 50s he recorded a few songs with Rosemary. Check out a couple of them here.


3/11/09 - a few additions have been made to the Library, so stop by for a visit and enjoy some Rosie reading. Also check out a short video clip which has been added to the site. It's a rare clip from a 1963 episode of "The Dick Powell Show" entitled "The Losers." It features Rosemary singing a beautiful hymn.

Rosemary's lifelong best friend, Blanchie Mae Chambers passed away on January 11, 2009. She would have been 85 on February 3. Remember Blanche and her blessed friendship with Rosemary by clicking here. You will find funeral arrangements, information on where to send tributes, photos and more.


12/23/08 - Be sure to check out Christmas with Clooney an article by Matt Connor which details the long-lasting impact that "White Christmas" had on Rosemary's life and career. Matt conducted several interviews with friends and associates of Rosemary who witnessed the impact first-hand.


12/19/2008 Paramount is planning a re-release of the DVD of White Christmas in 2009. Interviews and filming took place in Augusta, KY on December 19 at The Rosemary Clooney House which is home to the largest collection of White Christmas memorabilia in the world.

Interviews were conducted with Nick Clooney, Gail Darley, Mica Darley and Steve and Heather French Henry. The producer of the new material for the DVD also hopes to conduct additional interviews with family of the movie's stars and remaining cast members. In addition to the interviews, they filmed the "White Christmas" parade and spent time going through the collection which includes: Bing's uniform; Rosemary's red robe: Vera's white Mandy outfit; Mary Wickes, Veral Ellen and Rosemary's dresses from the Cast Party scene; the Rhinestone Gloves from "Love You Didn't Do Right By Me"; a blue fan from the Sisters routine; and both Rosemary's and Vera's Sisters dresses.


8/22/06 - New York City's 92nd Street Y will include "The Last Girl Singer: Rosemary Clooney and Her Way With Words" as part of their Lyrics and Lyricists series. There are five performances scheduled from January 6-8, 2007. Deborah Grace Winer, artisitic director; John Oddo, musical director, John Pizzarelli, vocals & guitar; and Debby Boone, vocals (1/7 & 1/8). Click here to order your tickets.

6/06 - Catch the BBC's phenominal program ROSIE ALL THE WAY being broadcast live on the internet, Sunday's in June at 8 p.m., by Cinciannti's WVXU radio station. 5/31/06 - The Rosemary Clooney House will hold a special dedication service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 3rd to commemorate the 1st Anniversary of the house's soft opening. A costume worn by Rosemary when she co-starred with Bob Hope in Here Come the Girls will be unvailed. Nick and Nina Clooney will join others in this special recognition which coincides with  Augusta's "Arts in the Garden" festival.

 


 

1/7/06 - The Rosemary Clooney House website has been updated with photos and press from the Oct. 2005 Grand Opening. In addition to photos of the participants visitors will get a glimpse of the hundreds of items that make up the house's impressive collection.

Also added to the site are photos and descriptions of several items that can be purchased from the house. Items included two different ornaments, two different t-shirts and autographed copies of "Girl Singer" signed by Joan Barthel.


 
9/29/05 - Details of the Grand Opening Weekend for The Rosemary Clooney House have been finalized. Will include a fundraiser, book signing, ribbon cutting, Rosemary's bedroom, the Miss America Room, preview of materials salvaged from 1019 Roxbury Drive, and much more. Click here for more details.

Rosemary's movie "Red Garters" is now available on DVD.

Rosemary's son Miguel Ferrer is starring in the recently released movie, "The Man."


6/14/05 - The Rosemary Clooney House held it's "soft-opening" on June 4, 2005. 4/26/05 - RITA COOLIDGE to headline the ROSEMARY CLOONEY CONCERT October 1 in Maysville, KY - Tickets for the Rosemary Clooney Concert are on sale and prices will remain the same as last year, ranging from $250 per person for the butler-served dinner to $90 each for the Rosie basket. 4/19/05 - The Henry's opened THE ROSEMARY CLOONEY HOUSE for a press preview on April 19, 2005. Reporters, videographers and photographers were given a sneak peek at the rennovations and some of the memorabilia which will be on display. Click here for more information.

A benefit for the Weill Music Institute's Professional Training Workshops, this evening features a once-in-a-lifetime assemblage gathered to honor one of the greatest vocal talents of our time. Presented by George Wein and Festival Productions, Inc., in partnership with Carnegie Hall. Debby Boone will co-host the event.

According to the Producers of THE ROSEMARY CLOONEY MUSIC FESTIVAL, this year's event will take place on Saturday, September 24, 2005.

8/26/04 - Plans have been announced for "The Clooney-Crosby Connection II" program which will take place during the Sixth Annual Rosemary Clooney Music Festival and will feature Kathryn Crosby, Nick Clooney and video clips edited by film archivist Bob DeFlores. The program is Sept. 25 at 10 a.m. at Field's Auditorium, Maysville Community College. Tickets $20 at the door. 

A silent auction will once again be held during the festival to help raise funds for the restoration of the Russell Theatre. The Rosie-themed-baskets will be available for preview during the morning program and the auction will take place in front of the Russell Theatre prior to the evening's main event. Check back for a listing of the items and information on absentee bidding.

4/16/04 - An exclusive feature, "The 4 Girls Phenomenon" has been added to the site. Written by Matt Connor, this story weaves together the details of the act with the funny stories of its principal players and observers. The feature is based on extensive research and hours of interviews with the surviving members of the 4 Girls 4, and their friends and family. Audio and video files, and never-before-seen photos help to make this the most comprehensive piece ever compiled on this phenomenal part of Rosemary's career!!

3/27/04 - A section devoted to Rosemary's widower Dante DiPaolo has been added to the site and can be accessed in the Family section of the Links page. Dante was an accomplished dancer on both screen and stage, as well starring in a number of motion pictures.

An article from Collier's, December 25, 1953 has been added to the library. The article is entitled "Fabulous Joe Ferrer" and details many of Rosemary's first husband's successes. The article includes several pictures of the then newlyweds.

Details for four more Lux Show programs have been added to the Episode Guide.


3/22/04 - WOSU.TV, the PBS Station in Columbus, Ohio, has informed the Palladium that they will broadcast "Rosemary Clooney: Girl Singer" on Wednesday, March 24 at 9:30 p.m. Obtain a copy of the program (DVD or VHS), with the additional song and interviews, by making a contribution to PBS.


3/21/04 - A page detailing the contents of the DVD Rosemary Clooney: Singing At Her Best has been added to the site. This DVD will be released on April 6, 2004. The page contains song selections, duet partners, ordering information and a brief review.

Additions continue to be made to the Episode Guide for Rosemary's television series. You might be amazed at songs Rosemary performed but were not commerically released. 26 songs from those performances are available on the CD "The Rosemary Clooney Show: Songs from the Classic Television Series."

3/17/04 - With the help of RosemaryFans, the Palladium has added a Episode Guide which begins to detail the guests and song selections from Rosemary's two television series. The clips for the PBS special as well as the songs from the new CD were taken from the first series "The Rosemary Clooney Show." If you have additional details about "The Rosmary Clooney Show" or "The Lux Show Starring Rosemary Clooney" please pass them on to the Palladium.


3/5/04 - Additions have been made to the Rosemary Clooney Show CD page, which include a review of the companion PBS special.


3/4/04 - The Rosemary Clooney Show CD page has been added to the site, with track listing and ordering information. The page also contains some photos of Rosemary around the time these shows were made....look close and you'll see Rosemary and Jose from one episode and also Rosemary dressed as Little Red Riding Hood from an episode with Boris Karloff.


2/18/03 - Pre-order the Concord Records release The Rosemary Clooney Show: Songs from the Classic Television Series which will be available on March 23, 2004. This CD is being released in conjunction with the PBS special Rosemary Clooney: The Girl Singer that will begin airing in March on local stations. The special includes clips from Rosemary's hit TV series of the 50s. Check you local listings for times in your area. Pre-order your copy of the CD today by clicking on the CD's artwork.


2/9/04 - In accepting his award for best pop traditional album, Tony Bennett said last evening, "I've been very fortunate to receive 11 of these wonderful Grammys, but, if I may, I'd like to give this one to Rosemary Clooney." He went on to say that, "Mike Nichols, the great director, said of Rosemary Clooney, 'She was the Spencer Tracy of singers; the most natural, honest singer that lived.'" He went on to say, "She's been my sister in show business all these years," dating back to a TV talent contest that she won and he was runner-up.


2/8/04 - A link to the Honolulu Symphony Musician's has been added to the Links page. Without this great group of musicians THE LAST CONCERT CD wouldn't have been possible.

1/22/04 - Information about making contributions to Nick Clooney's campaign has been added to the Nick Clooney for Congress page at the website.


1/21/04 - The Rosemary Clooney estate, has authorized LSL Productions to complete a DVD entitled "Rosemary Clooney: Girl Singer". This retrospective on Rosemary's career will premier on Public Television this March. It will be available to the public later in the year.

The Last Concert CD page has been updated with Grammy news.

Updates have been made to Bette's section of the site. New dates have been added to her tour and she continues to give loving tribute to Rosemary in all her interviews, including looking into withdrawing from the Grammy's so as to not go up against Rosemary.

NBC recently airred a program entitled "An Evening with Scott Hamilton & Friends." The program featured the greatest performers skating their magic to the accompaniment of special musical guest Michael Feinstein. The Palladium believes that Rosemary may have been a catalist for the friendship between Michael and Scott, as Scott was a huge fan of Rosemary. This program is available on DVD from Amazon. Rosemary fans will enjoy seeing her longtime accompanist, John Oddo at the ivories, as well as Matt Cattingub on sax and Steve Moretti on drums.

Fans of Rosemary's son Miguel Ferrer, will once again be able to catch him on Crossing Jordan on NBC, come February.


12/4/03 - GRAMMY NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED - Rosemary Clooney's work appears in the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album category twice — as an artist and in homage by another artist. Nominees include Clooney's own The Last Concert album going head-to-head with Bette Midler's Bette Midler Sings The Rosemary Clooney Songbook, as well as A Wonderful World by Tony Bennett and k.d. lang, As Time Goes By&ldots;The Great American Songbook: Volume II by Rod Stewart, and The Movie Album by Barbra Streisand.


11/28/03 - A "Nick Clooney for Congress" page has been added to the site, which includes news reports of his announcement and the subsequent reaction.

Numerous updates have been made to the Bette Midler section of the site, including reviews, interviews and additional tour dates. The transcript of Nick's call to Bette on Larry King Live will be of most interest to Rosemary's fans.


9/30/03 - Concord Records will release "Rosemary Clooney: The Best of the Concord Years" on October 7, 2003. Track listing and other information has been added to the site.

8/29/03 - The Rescue the Russell website has been updated and includes ordering information to purchase the Rescue the Russell Christmas cards. Not only are these lovely holiday greetings, they are sure to become collectors' items as well (the red inset box does not appear on the cards).

The cards feature the marquee of the Russell Theatre announcing Bing & Rosemary in "White Christmas." All the proceeds from the sale of the cards go directly to helping fund the restoration of the Russell Theatre.


8/18/03 - Bluegrass Satellite and Rescue the Russell will present "The Clooney-Crosby Connection" during The Rosemary Clooney Music Festival. Kathryn Crosby will reminsce and answer audience questions while reknowned film archivist Bob DeFlores will present rare vintage video clips of Bing and Rosemary. The program will take place 9/20 at 10AM at the Opera Theatre in Maysville. Tickets are $20 at the door. 100% of the proceeds benefit Rescue the Russell.

6/29/03 - In the end, nothing was more important to Rosemary then her family. On this, the first anniversary of her death, we've added an article Rosemary wrote in 1960 about this subject entitled "I want eight more children."


6/28/03 - Tune in to Radio Yesteryear at 7 p.m. on June 29th Eastern for a live tribute to Rosemary Clooney.


6/18/03 - A few more links have been added to the "Rosemary on the Radio" section of the links page. On June 29th, Australian Radio Yesteryear will air a two hour tribute to Rosemary. In July, David Kenney will re-broadcast his program's listener tribute to Rosemary from last year.

6/14/03 - At the prompting of the Australian Radio Yesteryear broadcast, a section has been added to the Links page called "Rosemary on the Radio" which lists some of the stations around the world which play Rosemary on the radio and/or web. Another addition has been made to the video collection page - a Bing Crosby Oldsmobile show with Rosemary as a guest was added.

The Barry Manilow website tells us that the Bette/Barry tribute CD to Rosemary will be released in the fall.

5/26/03 - A page of photos has been added from a celebration held at Patsy's restaurant on the eve of what would have been Rosemary's 75th Birthday.

Rosemary's husband and brother flew in from Lake Como, Italy for the event. Read about their vacation in Nick's Column.

5/21/03 - In honor of Rosemary's birthday on May 23, the Palladium thought it would be nice to remember one of Rosemary's happiest celebrations, so we've added a gallery of photos from Rosemary's book signing party which took place on November 22, 1999 at Patsy's restaurant in NYC.

 


5/20/03 - An article written by Matt Connor entitled "Remembering the 'Girl Singer': A visit to Rosemary Clooney's hometown" has been added to the site. It provides a beautiful accounting of the activities surrounding the 4th Annual Rosemary Clooney Music Festival.

 


5/19/03 - According to the Bette Midler site "BOOTLEGBETTY.COM" the new CD will in fact be a tribute to Rosemary. "This will also be a historic CD in that it brings Bette back together with longtime collaborator, musical director...the fantabulous, Barry Manilow! Barry will produce and appear on the CD...They begin recording this week...hopefully this means the CD will be out before [Bette's] tour starts in November. Mister Manilow will not be going on the road with Bette."

5/10/03 - Rosemary's longtime conductor, arranger, pianist JOHN ODDO will be performing that role for TONY BENNETT on his European tour this summer. They are sure to have wonderful stories to share. Pretty good gig for John!!

  In anticipation of the BETTE & BARRY on ROSEMARY release...fans ought to make sure they have in their collection Rosemary's CD "At Long Last" which features a fun duet with Barry on How About You (in the style of Rosie & Bing's famous duets).

       Rosie fans ought to check out John Pizzarelli's latest release LIVE AT BIRDLAND, which was recorded with his trio in the Autumn of 2002. It includes a track which features John telling a Rosemary story.

 


5/8/03 - New York Post columist Cindy Adams reports that Barry Manilow and Bette Midler will be recording an album of Rosemary Clooney tunes. Both Barry and Bette admired Rosemary very much. This should be a terrific tribute. Rosemary dueted with Barry on "Green Eyes" a track on his CD "Singing With the Big Bands."

Various reports indicate that the home Rosemary lived in on Roxbury Drive in Beverly Hills has been sold.

A beautiful article has been added to the site entitled "A Rose in Autumn." It is a tribute/remembrance written by Rosemary's friend Matt Connor.

Updates have been made to the Rescue the Russell portion of the website, including acquiring the site name www.rescuetherussell.com and adding a membership form.

3/11/03 - the University of Kentucky School of Music's KY Jazz Repertory Orchestra will hold "A Tribute to Rosemary Clooney, with Nick Clooney, host" on Friday, April 25, 2003 at 8 p.m. The event will take place at the Singletary Center for the Arts on the campus of the University of Kentucky in Lexington. Order tickets by calling, 859.257.4929 Prices are $25.00 adults, $10.00 students. A press release has not yet been sent out about this event, so there are still good seats available. The press release will probably go out soon.

 


On Friday, March 7 - A portrait of Rosemary Clooney was unveiled in the Kentucky Capital Rotunda. Rosemary and three other women's portraits were being added to the Kentucky Women Remembered permanent exhibit. The exhibit includes watercolors of 35 other women who have made outstanding contributions to the state. The exhibit is a Kentucky Commission on Women project. Artist Paula Jull created the exhibit. Alison Lyne of Logan County has painted the honorees the last two years.

9/21/02 - The Memorial Service for Rosemary in LA, will be held on December 10, 2002 at Merv Griffen's Beverly Hilton hotel. Merv will serv as MC for the evening, and the proceeds from the event will go to The Rosemary Clooney Fund for the Support of Pulmonary Research at the Mayo Clinic. Individual tickets are $300 and corporate sponsored tables are $25,000. More details to follow here shortly.

'It's where she had her first success, and she never forgot it.' Nick Clooney stands in front of the Maysville Fire Department's Kinney Mack fire truck by the floodwall murals Thursday as a television crew from the GoodLife Network shoots another segment for the upcoming special ``Rosie: The Rosemary Clooney Story." I am sorry to tell you that Rosemary Clooney is again undergoing treatment.

She was hospitalized briefly earlier this month and is now at home continuing treatment. She underwent lung cancer surgery at the Mayo Clinic in January and was finally released and returned home in May, where her family has been regularly at her side.

 


6/17/02 - According to a Michael Feinstein interview, the first release of his new FEINERY RECORDS label will be a release of radio duets of Rosemary Clooney and Bing Crosby. Michael says he came across the recordings in Rosemary's basement a couple of years ago. Look for the release in the Fall.

The Original 1956 Broadway Cast Recording of Li'l Abner has been released and includes two songs cut before the show's opening: "The Way to a Man's Heart" and "It's a Nuisance Having You Around," performed by Percy Faith and Rosemary Clooney, respectively.

April 23, 2001 - Cleveland Plain Dealer review of Rosemary's Concert on April 22 at the Tri-C JazzFest.

March 29, 2001 - Chip Deffaa's New York Post Review and Stephen Holden's New York Times Review of Rosemary's "Sentimental Journey" at Feinstein's 3/27 - 4/7 added to the Library.

 


March 28, 2001 - Two new dates added to Rosemary's Tour Schedule: 6/18 - London, and 6/20 Dublin.

April 10th "Concord's Women in Jazz---The New Century" CD will be released. Rosemary's BRAZIL is one of the tracks. It's available for preordering at AMAZON.COM


March 7, 2001 - SET YOUR VCRs. "Rosemary will appear on the Rosie O'Donnell Show on March 28 with the Big Kahuna...They'll perform some material from her forthcoming album and she'll sit as a panel guest as well."

Rosemary's CD "Sentimental Journey" is now scheduled for a July 24, 2001 release.

 


March 4, 2001 - Review of Rosemary's March 3rd concert with Louisville Orchestra added to the Palladium Library.


February 1, 2001 - New dates added to Rosemary's Tour Schedule, including a March date in Florida, an April date in Ohio, and a September date in Indiana.
Rosemary is currently recording selections which will appear on her next release.

 


January 30, 2001 - For now, Rosemary's next release will be called "Sentimental Journey," and it is described as a "classic girl singer project with the Big Kahuna Big Band." It is scheduled for a 6/26 release but of course that could change.

Rosemary will be honored with the MANHATTAN ASSOCIATION OF CABARETS & CLUBS (MAC Awards) on Sunday, April 1st, 2001 at Town Hall, 123 West 43rd Street, NYC. Additionally, Rosie O'Donnell and John McDaniel will receive the MAC Board of Directors Award.

December 17, 2000 - Review  of Rosemary's 12/14/00 performance entitled "Clooney: Charisma plus" added to the Palladium Library.

 


December 13, 2000 - Added to the Palladium Library is Salt Lake Tribune's review of Rosemary's White Christmas Party entitled "Clooney Is Gracious, Endearing in Yuletide Symphony Show." and the Orange County Register's interview of Rosemary entitled "All Her: The holiday season and Rosemary Clooney seem to be inseparable."

On Sunday, December 10th, Liz Smith was on hand at the Beverly Hilton to receive the Louella O. Parsons award. The inimitable Hal Kanter m.c'd and Rosemary Clooney and Debbie Boone serenaded.

September 20, 2000 - Concord Records has confirmed that they will record Ms. Clooney's concert at the Music Festival in Maysville on September 30, 2000. Appearing with Ms. Clooney will be Debby Boone and Heather Renee French.

September 11, 2000 - Information added to Tour Page for a two day event honoring Rosemary as the The 2000-01 Helwig Distinguished Artist at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  On 10/16/00 at 6:30 p.m. will be the Helwig Artist Special Dinner with the Clooneys - Hosted by President Lawrence K. August 9, 2000 - "Gold in Young Voices" from Pathfinder, December 12, 1951 added to the library. This is possibly the first magazine in which Rosemary appeared on the cover. Also added a few more reviews to the Variety Reviews page, and another review to the Brazil Reviews page.

 


August 3, 2000 - Added to the site were: Rosemary Clooney's Maysville, a page which highlights the sites of most significance to Rosemary in her hometown of Maysville, Kentucky; The Russell Theatre, a page which provides information about and depicts the current state of the theater which premiered Rosemary's first movie "The Stars are Singing," and which she is helping to restore; Best Friends, Always - Rosemary and Blanchie Mae, a page which tells a little of the story of a friendship that has lasted more than 60 years; Walk of Fame contribution form, a page that includes a form which you can print off to send your contribution to "Rescue the Russell" and even buy a personalized brick for the "Walk of Fame" if you like; and added to the library are some Variety Reviews of some of Rosemary's performances in the 60's.

July 14, 2000 - A t-shirt has been designed for Rosemary's latest CD and the Palladium website. If you are interested in obtaining a t-shirt, please write to ParsonKRB@aol.com for more information. T-shirts can be made for any size and in the color of your choice. Additionally a smaller version of the design can be placed on the back of the t-shirt if you wish. They make great conversation pieces!!


July 13, 2000 - Recaps of Rosemary's June 15th performance at Jazz at Ravinia and a recap of the Fourth of July from the Heartland concert with the Cincinnati Pops which was televised live on PBS. Also added were some pictures from two of Rosemary's earlier performances, one from 1957 in Amsterdam, and a second from the July 10, 1981 Northsea Jazz Festival. Be looking for Rosemary on Seasame Street on July 14, 2000.

 


July 5, 2000 - A link added to the links page for Nick Clooney's Cincinnati radio program.

 


June 29, 2000 - A recap of the "imusic fanclub" evening at Rosemary Clooney's performance at Feinstein's at the Regency on June 3, 2000, has been added to the site.  Two articles added to the library, one entitled "Hollywood's Favorite Songbird" from the Jan. 1955 edition of the Saturday Evening Post, and a second entitled "...What Makes Rosie Glow?" from the 9/53 edition of Redbook.

Be looking for Rosie on your PBS station July 4th, as they broadcast live from the Cincinnati Pops, Fourth of July in the Heartland. Rosie will be headlining, and her brother Nick will serve as M.C.

June 8, 2000 - A reservation form for the 2nd Annual Rosemary Clooney Music Festival has been added to the site along with more information about the festival. Reviews of Rosemary's newest CD, BRAZIL and her Feinstein appearance have been added, as well as a direct link to purchase the new CD, and a photo of Rosemary and John in the studio, plus a few new links in the library, including a 1956 Good Housekeeping article.


9 Dates have been added to Rosemary's tour schedule. She will be in Florida, Oregan, Arizona, New York, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, California and Utah over the next 12 months. Try and catch her if you can.
